The Berkshire Flyer is Amtrak’s new seasonal passenger rail service between New York City and the Berkshires.
The Berkshire Flyer provides rail service from New York City to Pittsfield in the Berkshires each weekend July 8th through Labor Day weekend (please note the final weekend of the Flyer service is the ONLY weekend where passengers get to spend two full days and three nights in the Berkshires). The Berkshire Flyer has sold out every weekend this summer so we recommend you book early to guarantee yourself a seat. Come discover summer #intheberkshires.
Economy tickets start at $45, and will not exceed $105 one way.
TIP: As of July 1, the federal mileage rate will be raised to 62.5 cents per mile. If a visitor were to drive to the Berkshires from NYC it would cost over $100 each way. Take the train and save!
Service will run July 8 through September 4, 2022. The train departs from New York Penn Station at 3:16 p.m. on Fridays, and arrives at Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center in Pittsfield at 7:12 p.m. Departure from Pittsfield is at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday and arrival in New York City is 7:05 p.m.
PRO TIP: The final weekend of Berkshire Flyer service is the only weekend where passengers get to spend two full days and three nights in the Berkshires. Book early to join us on this special Labor Day weekend service!
Getting Around the Berkshires
How to Get to Your Final Destination
After you arrive in the Berkshires on Friday, you will need a way to get from the train station to where you are staying. As the county is made up of 30 towns and 2 cities we highly recommend you make advance plans to travel from the train station to your final destination and make similar plans to return to the station on Sunday. We have listed a variety of transportation options below. Hopefully one will be the perfect fit for you and your Berkshire vacation!

A shuttle service for the last-mile transportation from/to the Pittsfield Intermodal Center (Amtrak train Station):
- On Fridays, shuttle service from the Pittsfield Intermodal Center to the lodging destinations in the Berkshires.
- On Sundays, pick-up shuttle service from the lodging destinations in the Berkshires to the Pittsfield Intermodal Center.
A flat fare of $20 per person per ride to most of the lodging destinations in the Berkshires. Book your ride in advance (strongly preferred) or when you arrive in Pittsfield.
A wheelchair-accessible van is available on request (call for price, advanced booking required ).
Berkshire Regional Transit Authority provides public bus services throughout the Berkshires. Contact the BRTA at (413) 499-2782 for routes, schedules, and more information.
Rental cars are available Saturday in Pittsfield from Enterprise (413) 443-6600 . Arrangements are still being finalized, so check back for more information soon !
